Storage

How should Kozy Shack products be stored?

Storage temperature affects the life and quality of the product. Unopened and opened containers of Kozy Shack pudding must be stored in your refrigerator. Keep the container tightly closed at all times. High temperatures will accelerate the loss of fresh flavor and cause product deterioration and changes in texture. Optimum storage temperatures are between 34°F - 40°F (1.1°C - 4.4°C). Kozy Shack puddings and flans should not be frozen.

What about Kozy Shack Frozen Desserts? How should they be stored?

Keep Kozy Shack Frozen Desserts frozen, and do not re-freeze them once thawed. Do not microwave these products, and consume them within 48 hours of defrosting.

Once the container is opened, how long will the product remain fresh?

Kozy Shack recommends that once opened, the product is consumed within seven days.

What does the "Use By" date mean?

The "Use By" date stamped on every package of Kozy Shack is the date that the unopened product will remain fresh. All Kozy Shack products have a specific shelf that ensure optimum freshness and quality. When kept unopened at the recommended storage temperature, Kozy Shack products are excellent through the date found on the package. The date is found on the bottom of each cup, tub or end flap of a sleeve. Kozy Shack does not guarantee quality after the "Use By" date.

Nutrition

Can Kozy Shack pudding be given to children?

Kozy Shack puddings are nutritious for people of all ages. Besides being a good source of calcium, Kozy Shack puddings and flans have zero grams of trans-fat, and do not contain any additives or preservatives. Before consuming any of our delicious products, please read the nutritional panel.

Is Kozy Shack gluten-free?

Kozy Shack puddings, flans, and gels are gluten-free.

How is Kozy Shack Organic Soy Pudding gluten-free?

Whole wheat is composed of a protein fraction and a carbohydrate fraction. When wheat starch (the carbohydrate fraction) is processed, it is separated from the protein fraction, which is where the gluten is contained. The protein fraction is discharged and we only use the carbohydrate part that does not contain gluten. This results in less than 10ppm of gluten per serving which is more stringent than the FDA’s proposed regulations for a “Gluten Free” claim (which is less than 20ppm)

Do Kozy Shack products contain trans fats?

Kozy Shack products do not contain trans fat.

Are Kozy Shack products Kosher?

Kozy Shack puddings are certified Dairy Kosher under Orthodox Rabbinical Supervision and bear the KOF-K emblem. Kozy Shack GelTreats® and Kozy Shack Soy Puddings are certified Kosher Parve also under Orthodox Rabbinical Supervision bearing the KOF-K emblem.

Do Kozy Shack products contain Allergens?

Most Kozy Shack products contain milk, eggs, or other milk derivatives. We recommend that you read each ingredient statement that clearly states any known allergens. All Kozy Shack products and manufacturing facilities are free of peanuts and tree nuts.

Are the milk and eggs that Kozy Shack uses in its puddings and flans cooked?

The milk and eggs used in Kozy Shack products are purchased pre-pasteurized and then cooked at high heat temperatures.
